Nestled in the heart of Cumberland, MD, Uncle Jack's Pizzeria & Pub offers a compelling blend of classic pizza parlor fare and lively pub atmosphere that keeps locals and visitors coming back for more. This cozy yet bustling spot on 20 S Mechanic St is a haven for pizza lovers craving generous toppings and bold, satisfying flavors. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza, a zesty BBQ Chicken Pizza, or the indulgently savory Steak Calzone, Uncle Jack’s menu delivers with authenticity and flair.
Their stromboli stands out as a crowd favorite, as Rae Carlson noted, with portions so generous they redefine "meal size" – the larger version almost two feet long and packed with rich, melted cheese and savory fillings. For those who prefer a lighter bite, the Baby Napoleon Pizza or a fresh House Salad pair perfectly with an ice cold Stella Artois or Miller Lite, completing a satisfying dining experience.
Beyond pizza, the menu features tempting appetizers such as crispy French Fries and flavor-packed Chicken Wings in Lemon Pepper seasoning, ideal for sharing with friends over a pint. The selection of cold hoagies, like the Ham & Cheese or Italian sub, also draws praise from travelers seeking a solid takeout option. Michael Lowe’s experience of ordering a hot steak sub that arrived warm and ready after a walk back from his hotel highlights Uncle Jack’s attentive service and commitment to quality, even for to-go orders.
The ambiance of Uncle Jack’s Pizzeria & Pub is casual and inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring Cumberland or attending local events. Michael P. captured the essence of the place well - a lively, friendly pub setting filled with an eager crowd, where you can enjoy robust pizza flavors alongside pub staples like chicken sandwiches and fries without breaking the bank. Dinner for three with appetizers and drinks for under $50 speaks to the excellent value here.
While Elizabeth Hay-Robison expressed some reservations about a small takeout fee, it seems her overall satisfaction with the food experience remains high—a testament to the consistent quality Uncle Jack’s maintains. The combination of warm service, hearty portions, and a menu that caters to both quick bites and leisurely meals makes this an essential stop whether you’re a local or just passing through.
In essence, Uncle Jack’s Pizzeria & Pub is the kind of place where the pizza tastes like it was made with care and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. It’s more than just a meal – it’s a welcoming experience marked by fantastic food, genuine service, and a great value that keeps customers eagerly planning their next visit.
Stopped here from out of town, based on the reviews. Would certainly come back if we're ever in town again! For what it's worth.. Their stromboli sizing is a lie. The bigger one I ordered for myself was roughly 2' long. I wasn't complaining, because it was absolutely delicious.. but I could have easily left full with just the smaller one.. I'll try their pizza next time. I have a feeling it'll be fantastic
I am ALWAYS happy with my food whether I eat in or get take out. My only complaint is they charge you a fee to order take out over the phone. I hope you give that money to the server or bartender or whoever answers the phone because I will not leave a tip when I pick up if you are already charging a fee.
Was looking for a takeaway sandwich to eat at the hotel after a long day. Hotel clerk suggested Uncle Jack's. I ordered a hot steak sub with chips by phone, walked to the place (15 mins), my food was ready, and still warm when I returned to my hotel. It was very good. I will definitely add this place to my potential eating spots along I-68 as my travels take me past it.
Good pub fare. Went here to check out the pizza. It was busy as the Christmas train crowd was there in their pajamas. The food is good. The pizza has a nice flavor and the toppings were pretty generous. We also had the chicken sandwich with fries. The price is pretty reasonable with dinner for three running less than $50 with an appetizer and glass of wine.
Wonder food, great service, very enjoyable at great prices!
Nice old pub in downtown Cumberland with lots of character. Large TVs for watching sports, good service, and great food. I loved their spicy wing sauce. Prices were very reasonable, will definitely visit again next time I'm in town.
